UCO Moves Up In National Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Feb. 28) -- Central Oklahoma moved up one spot in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II rankings Tuesday, coming in at No. 9 in the weekly poll.

The Bronchos, 8-3 on the season, finished with 241 points in balloting of 16 head coaches from around the country -- two from each of the eight regions. It marks the 30th consecutive time the Bronchos have been in the top 25, including the 11th straight in the top 10.

Conference rival Rogers State remained the unanimous No. 1 pick, with North Georgia, Tampa, Texas-Tyler and Cal State-San Marcos rounding out the top five. Washburn of the MIAA came in at No. 18.

UCO returns to action for the first time since Feb. 19 on Wednesday when the Bronchos host Northwestern Oklahoma for a 2 p.m. doubleheader at Gerry Pinkston Stadium.
