UCO, which is hosting the 54-hole event in north Houston, found itself last of 14 teams after 18 holes Monday morning. The Bronchos gained back some of that and sit 12th following the first two rounds. The final round is scheduled for an 8 a.m. shotgun start Tuesday.

"We came out and put ourselves in a tough spot early," UCO head women's golf coach Michael Bond said. "When you don't start out right, it can be hard to correct it and we let it get away from us today. We did play better in the second round, and we hope to play a lot better on Tuesday."

UCO opened with a 321, led by senior Madison O'Dell's 3-over 75. Mika Ramos was two back with a 5-over 77, but the Bronchos also had an 84 from Arin Zachary and an 85 from Emma Shelley counting toward the team score. Jirasuda Khunarak also shot a 13-over 85 Monday morning.

Khunarak led the Bronchos in the second round with a 1-over-par 73. Ramos shaved two strokes of her score, posting a 3-over 75. O'Dell was 6-over-par at 78. Zachary also lowered her score with a 7-over 79. Shelley did the same at 9-over 81.

UCO posted a team score of 305 in the second round for a 36-hole total of 626.

Ramos (152) is tied for 28th. O'Dell (153) is one shot back and tied for 35th. Khunarak (158) is tied for 56th, Zachary (163) 67th, and Shelley (166) 71st.

Nanya Hinsui is competing as an individual in the tournament. She opened with a 10-over 83 Monday morning before adding a 12-over 85 Monday afternoon to finish with a two-round 168.

The final round is scheduled for Tuesday morning. The Bronchos are playing in the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational March 6-7 at Lincoln Park in Oklahoma City. UCO travels to Destin, Florida for the Emerald Coast Classic the following week. Central Oklahoma has three tournaments in April, including the 2023 MIAA Women's Golf Championships in Joplin, Missouri.
