Bronchos Competing In Old Glory Gallup Saturday

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – Central Oklahoma returns to the course Saturday for the Old Glory Gallup, hosted by Dallas Baptist. The 5k race is scheduled to begin at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at Lynn Creek Park.

Central is sending six runners to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Noel Buckhaults, Sydney Large, Melohdee Marroquin, Kimberly Perez, Kylee Smith, and Genevieve Young make up the lineup for the Bronchos.

UCO has competed in three events this fall, and all three have been different distances (3k, 5k, 6k).

Buckhaults, Marroquin, and Young have started and finished all three races for Central Oklahoma this season. In the only other 5k of the season for the trio, Young led the way with a time of 20:21. Buckhaults and Marroquin had identical times last month of 21:29.

Perez also ran a 5k earlier this season and finished in 25:09. Large finished the same race in 25:49. Smith did not finish the 5k last month and did not compete in the 6k two weeks ago.

Saturday marks the final regular season race in 2023 for Central Oklahoma. The Bronchos are scheduled to compete in the MIAA Cross Country Championships Friday, Oct. 20 in Columbia, Missouri. The 2023 NCAA Division II Central Regional Championships are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 4 in Joplin, Mo.
