"We played better today and that's something we'll take moving forward," UCO head women's golf coach Michael Bond said. "We're not where we want to be, but if you're improving, you'll take it."

Central Oklahoma has shot even or lower with each round played this season after three tournaments. Tuesday's 298 is a season-low for seven rounds of golf this fall.

The Bronchos had a second team in the tournament this week with that four-person squad finishing 11th in the team race. UCO posted a 624 (312-312).

Emma Shelley led the way for the Bronchos with a Top 10 finish. The fifth-year senior from Bartlesville shot a 1-over-par 72 on Tuesday and finished the tournament with a 4-over 146 to come in ninth place in the individual standings.

Jirasuda Khunarak and Mika Ramos both tied for 20th place individually, giving UCO three in the Top 20. Khunarak got to 9-over 151 by shooting 74-77, while Ramos got there by shooting 75-76.

Estela Castillo and Scarlet Sturch alternated counting scores this week. Castillo went from 8-over 79 on Monday to 2-over 73 on Tuesday. Sturch shot 78 both days.

Mimi Hoang led the second team. She also joined Khunarak and Ramos in the Top 20 with a 36-hole 151. Hoang, playing in her first career tournament, shot a 78 on Monday, but played big on Tuesday firing a 2-over-par 73.

Nanya Hinsui was one shot back. The senior from Thailand shot a 76 both days to finish at 10-over 152.

Drew Faires (77-82 – 159) and MaKaylee Cowan (81-81 – 162) rounded out the scores for the second group.

Central Oklahoma still has two more tournaments left on the fall schedule. After playing on three consecutive weeks, the Bronchos will take next week off. UCO is scheduled to compete in Missouri in two weeks and then Tulsa for a second time in three weeks to wrap up the fall slate.
