Three Season Bests Highlight Broncho Day

Central Oklahoma Finished 13th At MIAA Cross Country Championships

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Central Oklahoma finished 13th at the 2023 MIAA Women's Cross Country Championships Friday afternoon at the University of Missouri's Gans Creek Cross Country Course.

Genevieve Young, Noel Buckhaults, and Melohdee Marroquin led the Bronchos through the 6k course with all three finishing in close proximity. Kylee Smith and Kimberly Perez also ran.
 
Young finished first among the group with a 6k time of 25:03.95 for a 73rd place individual finish. That mark is 51 seconds better than her previous best.
 
Buckhaults finished 77th with a time of 25:45.63, a mark that is 1:50 better than her previous season best.
 
Marroquin finished 79th with a time of 25:58.38. She also improved with a new season best performance by 1:20.
 
Perez finished in 30:22.60 and Smith did not finish the race.
 
UCO will now turn its focus to one final race in 2023. The Bronchos will be in Joplin, Missouri in two weeks for the NCAA Central Region Championships on Saturday, Nov. 4 at Missouri Southern State's Tom Rutledge Course.
