Central Oklahoma Takes On Midwest Classic

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Central Oklahoma returns to the course Monday after one week from its fall schedule. The Bronchos tee off in the Midwest Classic at Mules National for a two-day, 36-hole tournament.

Central Oklahoma is set to take on the field. The Bronchos have tee times from 9:06 a.m. Monday through 9:42 a.m. There are 18 teams competing in the tournament. Mules National is a 5,618-yard Par 70 course.

The Broncho lineup consists of seniors Emma Shelley, Jirasuda Khunarak and Mika Ramos, and freshmen Estela Castillo and MaKaylee Cowan.

Shelley leads the Bronchos with a 76.0 stroke average through three tournaments this season (seven rounds). Shelley has a low round of 72 two weeks ago in Edmond. That helped her finish ninth at the Grace Shin Invitational, her top finish of the year.

Khunarak and Ramos are both averaging 76.1 through seven rounds of golf this fall. Khunarak shot a 70 in Bartlesville last month and finished sixth in the Regional Preview there. Ramos was UCO's high finisher at the DBU Invitational to open the season and she tied for 20th two weeks ago in Edmond.

Castillo has also played in each of the first three tournaments to start the season, and her career. She is averaging a 78.8 through seven rounds of collegiate golf. Her 73 two weeks ago in Edmond is her low round this season.

Cowan made her collegiate debut in Edmond two weeks ago. She fired back-to-back rounds of 81.

Central Oklahoma has one more tournament left on the fall schedule. The Bronchos will make the trip to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma for The Tulsa Cup at The Club at Forest Ridge Oct. 23-24.
