Bronchos Ready For Fall Finale

EDMOND -- The Central Oklahoma men's golf team stays home for its final tournament of the fall season Monday and Tuesday, with the Bronchos set to compete in the NCAA Regional Preview at KickingBird Golf Club.

Southern Nazarene is host of the tournament that pits teams from three conferences -- the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, the Great American Conference and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Play starts both days at 8:30 a.m. on the 6,821-yard, par-70 layout, with 36 holes on tap Monday followed by Tuesday's final round.

"We've had a pretty good fall so far and want to finish it off on a strong note," head coach Derrick Thompson said. "Obviously we're familiar with the course and hopefully that will help us, but we still have to go out and execute. It should be a great tournament."

The Bronchos finished in the top-three in their first four tournaments this fall, coming in runner-up twice and third twice.

Making up UCO's five-man squad will be seniors Evan Griffith and Ross Taylor, junior Dylan Henderson, redshirt freshman Nick Canales and freshman Baylor Bostick.

Henderson leads the team with a stellar 70.5 scoring average and is coming off consecutive top-six finishes. Canales is right behind with a 70.9 average, while Griffith is at 72.6, Taylor 72.8 and Bostick 73.1.
