EDMOND – The UCO volleyball team announced its 2022 schedule Tuesday with the Bronchos ready to serve this August.

SEE THE COMPLETE SCHEDULE HERE

Central Oklahoma is slated to play 30 matches this season, including 14 home contests inside Hamilton Field House. The Bronchos have 12 road contests schedule and UCO will play four neutral-site matches.

"We always look forward to a new year because we don't know how the new team will fall into place," UCO head volleyball coach Edgar Miraku said. "We have a good portion of the team back from last year and we've got some newcomers that need to find their place with this team. It's an exciting time when camp starts in August and we're looking forward to it."

The 2022 season begins with those neutral-site competitions. Central Oklahoma is visiting Marquette, Michigan for the 2022 Northern Michigan Open. UCO is scheduled to take on Lake Superior State, Bemidji State, Minnesota Crookston and Cedarville all in a weekend August 26-27.

Central Oklahoma will then return home and host East Central in a one-off non-conference matchup at Hamilton Field House.

The Bronchos will remain home for the 2022 UCO-OC festival. Co-hosting the three-day event with Oklahoma Christian, Central will play three matches at Hamilton before crossing into Oklahoma City to take on OC in the festival finale.

Central plays one last non-conference matchup at Oklahoma Baptist before beginning its MIAA schedule.

The Bronchos are scheduled to play 20 MIAA matches – 10 at home and 10 on the road. UCO begins with a homestand against Pittsburg State and Missouri Southern Sept. 9-10.

The final home matches for the Bronchos this season are scheduled for Oct. 27-28 against Central Missouri and Missouri Western. After a season-ending road trip Nov. 1-2, the Bronchos will look to the postseason.

The 2022 MIAA Volleyball Championship is scheduled for the second week of November. The 2022 NCAA Division II Volleyball Championship begins with regional play in mid-November.

Miraku enters his 11th year coaching the Bronchos this August. He has a 219-78 overall record and has led UCO to the MIAA postseason tournament every year since becoming the head coach. Miraku has also led Central Oklahoma to a pair of national tournament appearances.
