Central Oklahoma Looks To Make Climb In Final Round Wednesday

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Central Oklahoma is fifth in the team standings following two rounds of play at the NCAA Division II Central Region Championship. The Bronchos will wrap up the 54-hole event at Hot Springs Country Club Wednesday looking to climb the ladder and punch a ticket to nationals.

"We're close and I believe we can make a push," UCO head women's golf coach Michael Bond said. "We need to shore up a few spots and finish off some holes a little better. But we're close and we'll see how Wednesday plays."

Susana Olivares is second in the individual standings. She started the day tied for first after shooting a 2-under 70 on Monday. The sophomore shot a 3-over 75 Tuesday. She parred 15 of 18 holes at the 5,932-yard course.

Madison O'Dell is tied for 20th after shooting a 79 on Tuesday. She is at 154 after 36 holes. Kinsley Hall posted an 82 and sits tied for 31st in the field at 158 after two trips around the course.

Mika Ramos improved her score in Round 2 by seven shots. After a tough 85 on Monday, she shot 78 on Tuesday. Taylor Towers, who missed Monday's action (illness) shot a 76 on Tuesday.

Central Oklahoma is looking to punch its ticket to nationals. The top three teams at the Regional Championship advance to the 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships at Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, Georgia May 11-14.
