Central sent a partial squad to Kansas for the two-day event, with nine competing over the weekend.

Kaleigh Dyas and Ansley Scott both had fifth-place finishes to highlight the group effort.

Dyas finished fifth in the 100-meter prelims with a time of 12.19 seconds. She came back for the finals and finished fifth again, crossing the line in 12.28 seconds.

Dyas recorded the two fastest times of her career with Saturday's races. She ran her first track meet at UCO four years ago and the 100-meter efforts this weekend are the best during her time in Bronze & Blue.

She also finished 10th in the 200-meter race with a time of 25.39 seconds and that is also a career best for the senior from Converse, Texas.

Scott took fifth in the 400 meters, crossing the finish line in 57.73 seconds. A freshman from Oklahoma City, Scott has run the 400 twice this season and finished fifth both times. She improved her time this weekend after running a 58.88 at Oklahoma Baptist last weekend.

Jasmine Hopkins and Lydia Lawrence also ran the 100 and 200 with Dyas. Hopkins finished 27th and 22nd respectively and Lawrence finished 45th and 47th.

Hopkins finished 27th in the 100 meters but was only 0.7 seconds behind Dyas's fifth place showing. She finished 22nd in the 200 but was only 0.8 seconds behind Dyas's mark.

Jordan Chancellor competed in the long jump and triple jump this weekend. The freshman from Verdigris, Oklahoma finished 22nd in the long jump with a mark of 4.77 meters. That topped her debut jump last week of 4.72 meters. Chancellor finished 16th in the triple with a 10.15-meter jump.

A pair of throwers also made the trip to Wichita this weekend. Tatum Robertson competed in the shot put, discus and hammer throw, and Eve Brennan tossed the discus and hammer.

Robertson finished 12th in the shot put (11.01m), 30th in the discus (27.53m) and 21st in the hammer throw (36.80m). Brennan finished 13th in the discus (34.40m) and 30th in the hammer (34.21m).
