Evan Griffith Named All-MIAA

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – The MIAA announced Tuesday following the conclusion of the 2022 MIAA Championship its annual postseason awards and Central Oklahoma standout Evan Griffith was honored.

Griffith, a third-year sophomore from Greenwood, Arkansas, was named All-MIAA following his stellar season. He played in all 11 tournaments for the Bronchos this season and averaged 73.3 per round.

He had a low round of 66 this season, that coming in the regular season's final event at The Mule in Warrensburg, Missouri. He shot par or better nine times and posted five rounds in the 60s.

His best outing came the first weekend in February. Griffith posted a 3-under 213 at the Houston Classic. He shot a 6-under 66 in Round 1 of that tournament to set the pace on his way to his first collegiate victory.

Central Oklahoma finished fourth Tuesday in the MIAA Championships. The Bronchos finished third in the MIAA year-long standings. UCO awaits word on its postseason fate. The 2022 NCAA Division II Regional Championships are scheduled for May 5-7 in Noblesville, Indiana. The field will be announced later this week.
