Bronchos Jump To Fourth In National Rankings

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 19) – A doubleheader sweep of the previous No. 2 team helped Central Oklahoma jump up six spots in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II rankings that were released Tuesday.

The Bronchos came in at No. 4 in the weekly poll after finishing with 338 points in balloting of 16 head coaches from around the country. Texas-Tyler remained the unanimous No. 1 team, with Auburn-Montgomery, Indianapolis, UCO and Texas A&M-Kingsville rounding out the top five.

Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association rival Rogers State was No. 2 in last week's rankings, but UCO beat the Hillcats twice (6-2, 1-0) in taking over the conference lead. RSU dropped to eighth in the poll.

The Bronchos, winner of 11 straight, are 38-6 on the season and 17-1 in league play. UCO finishes the regular season with eight straight road games, starting with back-to-back doubleheaders at Nebraska-Kearney and Fort Hays State this Friday and Saturday.
