Bronchos In The Lead

BOLIVAR, Mo. (March 21) – Central Oklahoma placed three individuals in the top 10 to grab the team lead after first-day play at the Midwest Intercollegiate Invitational Monday.

The Bronchos shot 312 at the wind-blown 5,985-yard, par-72 Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club, good for a one-shot lead over Central Missouri. Augustana is third in the 17-team tourney at 319 heading into Tuesday's final round, which is set for a 9:30 a.m. start.

Susana Olivares is third in the medalist standings after opening with a 76, with Emma Shelley a shot behind in fourth. Mika Ramos shot 79 and is tied for eighth, while Madison O'Dell had an 80 and Kinsley Hall an 82.

"It was really tough out there today with the wind," head coach Michael Bond said. "We stayed patient and held it together pretty good considering the conditions."
