Kelsey Johnson Earns CoSIDA Academic All-American Honor

University of Central Oklahoma grad student Kelsey Johnson was named Academic All-American Wednesday, the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced.

Johnson, who wrapped up her sensational career rewriting the Broncho women's basketball record books this winter, is a first time recipient of the academic award. 

Student-athletes need to be the best on the court and in the classroom to earn Academic All-American honors. Johnson is a 4.0 student in the Family & Child Studies graduate program at Central. She also led the MIAA in scoring this season at over 21.0 points per game and was among the top-five scorers in the country. 

Johnson led UCO to the MIAA Basketball Championship Quarterfinals this winter. She ended her career at Central No. 3 on the school's all-time scoring list after setting the single season scoring record earlier this month.
