The Central Oklahoma women's golf team continues their spring season this week with a trip to Destin, Fla. for the Emerald Coast Classic.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament gets underway Sunday at the 5,906-yard, par-71 Baytowne Golf Club, continues Monday and wraps up Tuesday.

Seventeen teams will compete in the event, led by a trio of top-25 squads – No. 4 Nova Southeastern, No. 15 Lee and No. 24 Central Missouri.

The Bronchos will be looking for their third straight team title after rallying to capture the Diffee Ford-Lincoln Invitational at Lincoln Park East Golf Course in Oklahoma City by two shots. UCO has finished in the top-four in five straight tournaments dating back to last fall.

"We've played really well so far this spring," said head coach Michael Bond, who has led the Bronchos to 32 team titles in 14 years at the helm. "This is a tough golf course with a really strong field and we're looking forward to the challenge."

Making up Central's five-player contingent will be senior Kinsley Hall, junior Madison O'Dell and sophomores Susana Olivares, Mika Ramos and Emma Shelley.

Olivares continues to pace the team with a sensational 72.38 scoring average. She's finished in the top 12 in all six tournaments this season, including five straight in the top eight, and lost in a playoff at the Diffee Ford-Lincoln Invitational.

Shelley beat Olivares and another competitor on the second playoff hole to win last week's tournament. Shelley owns a 74.6 average and has been in the top 20 in all five events she's played, including fourth- and first-place showings this spring.

Hall has placed 15th and sixth in UCO's two spring tournaments and has a 77.67 average. Ramos is at 78.54 with three top-25 showings and O'Dell is at 78.92 with a pair of top-25 finishes.
