Women's Cross Country Chris Brannick

Bronchos Finish 12th At MIAA Championships

JOPLIN, Mo. – Central Oklahoma raced to a 12th-place finish at the 2022 MIAA Championships at Missouri Southern's Tom Rutledge Course.
 
Pittsburg State won the team event while Northwest Missouri had the individual champion.

Korie Kizarr led the Bronchos with a 59th place finish. She ran the 6k course in 23:25.60.
 
Noel Buckhaults and Giselle Zavaleta were on each other's heels in the race. Buckhaults finished in 25:32.24 and Zavaleta was one spot back with a time of 25:36.54.
 
Eden Haack and Seydi Blount had similar races too, with Haack finishing her first 6k of the season in 25:41.93, while Blount posted a 25:49.18.
 
Katie McCathern and Kylee Smith also ran for Central. McCathern posted a 27:40.40, and Smith finished in 29:07.03.
 
UCO will prep for the NCAA Regional Championships, which are also in Joplin. That race is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 19.
