Central Oklahoma Second In Weather-Delayed Tulsa Cup

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Jirasuda Khunarak is tied for first in the weather-delayed Tulsa Cup Monday, with Central Oklahoma second in the team standings through a partial round of play at The Club at Forest Ridge.

Khunarak, a junior from Thailand, is 1-under through 13 holes and is tied with Augustana's Lanie Veenendall, who is 1-under through 14 holes. UCO is 15-over as a team with four out of five players having completed 13 holes in the first round. Mika Ramos, who is tied for 13th at 4-over-par, has played 14 holes.

The Tulsa Cup, hosted by Rogers State, was scheduled to be a 54-hole tournament with the first and second rounds to be played Monday before the third and final round Tuesday. Rain caused alterations before play even began Monday and the tournament was shortened to 36 holes, one round each day. Team will now target a Tuesday morning completion of the first round before playing the second and final round.

Emma Shelley and Madison O'Dell are both 6-over through 13 holes of play. Arin Zachary is 13-over.

Khunarak started play on hole No. 6 Monday morning. After two pars, she bogeyed the par-4 eighth but followed that with a birdie on the par-5 ninth. She sank another birdie on 10 and was back to even-par after a bogey on 12. A Khunarak sank her third birdie of the day on the par-3 15th.

Ramos, who is from Tulsa, started her day on No. 8 with a bogey before sinking a birdie putt on No. 9. She parred 10 before another bogey-birdie sequence on 11 & 12, and then reeled off six-straight pars to close the back nine with an even 36. Ramos played No. 1-3 4-over par before play was halted.

Shelley played five pars and one birdie through 13 holes and O'Dell also had five pars and two birdies before stopping play.
