Central Takes On The Field At The Tulsa Cup

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Central Oklahoma wraps up its Fall schedule with The Tulsa Cup, hosted by Rogers State Monday and Tuesday at the Club at Indian Springs.

UCO is playing 54 holes in two days, with 36 scheduled for Monday and the final round set for Tuesday.

"We've had a good start to the year, not our best, but good, and want to play well in our last tournament," UCO head men's golf coach Derrick Thompson said. "We have some areas we can improve on, and we want to go into the break with a good idea of what we need to do to be better in the Spring."

UCO is sending its five-person lineup with an individual as too for six Bronchos in the field this week at Indian Springs.

Bennett Baldwin, who was named MIAA Men's Golfer of the Week last week after a runner-up finish in Kansas, leads the Bronchos into Broken Arrow. The Stillwater native, a sophomore, has a team-low 73.3 scoring average through 11 rounds of golf. Baldwin also leads the team with four rounds of par or better.

Evan Griffith, from Greenwood, Arkansas, is shooting 75.5 through 11 rounds of golf this Fall. His 5-under 67 at Shangri-La last month is the low round of the season for the Bronchos.

Caleb Kimmel has joined Baldwin and Griffith in each of the 11 rounds UCO has played this Fall. Kimmel is shooting 74.6 with two rounds of par or better. His best finish was tied for 13th at the season-opening Super Regional Preview in Winona, Minnesota.

Ross Taylor, who has played in three tournaments (eight rounds), has a 74.8 scoring average. Taylor, like Griffith and Kimmel, has two rounds of par or better this season. His best finish was also tied for 13th at the season-opening Super Regional Preview.

Carson Blaser has played in three tournaments this Fall. He boasts a 77.1 scoring average and has one Top 20 finish, a 16th-place mark at the Missouri Southern Fall Invitational at Shangri-La.

Riley Green will compete as an individual this week in Tulsa. He has played in two tournaments this Fall. He shot a 9-over 151 at the season-opening Super Regional Preview. He also competed in Kansas two weeks ago and posted a 25-over 241.
