UCO Hosting Grace Shin Invitational Monday and Tuesday

The Golf Club of Edmond Is Site of Two-Day, 36-Hole Tournament

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma hosts the Grace Shin Invitational this week at the Golf Club of Edmond, with the Bronchos teeing off at 8:30 a.m. Monday.

UCO will play 18 holes Monday. The tournament wraps up with the second round Tuesday morning.

Central Oklahoma has hosted a Fall tourney for 15 of the last 16 years (2020) and the Bronchos have won the event five times. UCO finished third last season after a win in 2019.

This Fall, Central Oklahoma is looking to improve after two weeks of play. The Bronchos finished 16th in the rugged Dallas Baptist Classic two weeks ago in Texas before finishing sixth in the Lady Tiger Classic in Kansas last week.

UCO is averaging a team score of 315.4 through two events (five rounds). Central started the season with a 299 in the first round of the DBU Classic.

Junior college transfer Jirasuda Khunarak has a team-best 77.7 scoring average after two events. The junior from Thailand finished sixth in Kansas last week.

Emma Shelley is a close second, averaging 78.4 through two events. Madison O'Dell, the team's senior leader, is averaging a 79.2 after two tournaments.

Mika Ramos (80.0), Arin Zachary (82.0) and Nanya Hinsui (82.0) will be in action as well this week in Edmond. Zachary did not compete in Texas two weeks ago but was in the lineup in Kansas and will be again this week. Hinsui will play outside of Central's five as an individual.

UCO is competing in four tournaments in as many weeks and the Grace Shin Invitational is the third of that run. UCO will head to the National Preview at Fox Run Golf Club in Eureka, Missouri next week. The Bronchos close out their Fall schedule with the Tulsa Cup in Broken Arrow Oct. 24-25.
