Baldwin Paces UCO On Final Day At NSU

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

MUSKOGEE, Okla. (Sept. 21) – Bennett Baldwin fired an even-par 71 to lead Central Oklahoma at the 23rd Annual NSU Golf Classic that wrapped up Tuesday.

The Bronchos closed with a 300 to finish eighth in the two-day, 54-hole tournament with an 874 total on the 6,729-yard, par-71 Muskogee Golf Club. Arkansas Tech won the 18-team tourney at 837, followed by Central Missouri (842) and Harding (851).

Baldwin's 71 led UCO, while Liam Coughlin had a final-round 73. The Bronchos also got a 76 from Caleb Kimmel, while Evan Griffith shot 80 and Kyle Hickey 81.

Baldwin started his day with a bogey on No. 1, but got that back with a birdie on the par-4 seventh and made another birdie on the par-5 ninth to make the turn at one-under.

The freshman, playing in just his second collegiate tournament, started the back nine with six straight pars before bogeying No. 16. He closed with two more pars for a back-nine 36.

Coughlin had an up-and-down front nine, making three birdies, two bogeys and four pars in shooting a one-under 35. A rookie making his collegiate debut, Coughlin double bogeyed No. 10 and bogeyed No. 11 before rebounding to par the last seven holes for a closing 38.

Baldwin, Griffith and Kimmel all tied for 27th in the individual standings with 218 totals.

UCO doesn't play again until going to Amarillo, Texas Oct. 4-5 for the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational, hosted by West Texas A&M.
