UCO Picked 10th In Preseason Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Central Oklahoma cross country team was picked 10th in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league announced Friday.

Central Oklahoma, which did not compete in 2020 due to the pandemic, opens the 2021 season Saturday, Sept. 4 in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the Oklahoma Baptist Invite.
 
UCO received a total of 36 points in the poll of 13 head coaches. Pittsburg State, which won the last cross country championship in the MIAA in 2019, was picked first in the poll and received six first-place votes.
 
Central Oklahoma returns three runners that competed during the 2019 season and seven that raced for the Bronchos last year during Indoor and Outdoor track & field seasons.
 
UCO is scheduled to race at OBU Sept. 4, at Missouri Southern Sept. 18, and at Emporia State Sept. 24. The Bronchos close out the regular season Oct. 9 at Fort Hays State before returning to Joplin, Mo. for the MIAA Championships Oct. 23.
