The program is part of the USA Today High School Sports Awards, the largest high school sports recognition program in the country. The program honors players of the year in more than a dozen sports. Statewide winners will be featured as honorees in the national award show next month.

Ritz, who is set to join the Bronchos this fall ahead of the 2022 season, recently wrapped up an MVP career at nearby Deer Creek High School. An All-State selection, the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference Player of the Year, Class 6A-1 Player of the Year, and several other awards have already been sent Ritz's way.

A pitcher and first baseman, Ritz had over 40 home runs for Deer Creek, hitting .497 at the plate. She also registered over 300 strikeouts in the circle.
