Kyle Crowl, Bennett Laurence Named To MIAA All-Tournament Team

JOPLIN, Mo. – The MIAA announced following its 2021 Baseball Championships an All-Tournament Team and a pair of University of Central Oklahoma student-athletes were named to the list.
 
Kyle Crowl and Bennett Laurence were named to the MIAA All-Tournament Team after helping the Bronchos to the winner's bracket final and consolation final this past weekend in Joplin.
 
UCO was the six-seed in the MIAA Tournament and won a best-of-three series 2-1 at Missouri Southern to advance to the second weekend of the championship. UCO then beat Rogers State to advance to the winner's bracket final, where it lost to eventual champion Central Missouri. The Bronchos then lost in the consolation final against Pittsburg State, which ended its 2021 season.
 
Crowl, a senior shortstop from Council Bluffs, Iowa, hit .375 in the tournament, going a combined 9-for-24 in six games played. He had two home runs and five doubles to go with a pair of singles. His slugging percentage, among the best in the league all season, ballooned to .833 in the tournament. Crowl also registered seven RBIs and also scored six runs.
 
Laurence, a redshirt freshman from Rockwall, Texas, hit .417 in the tournament, going a combined 5-for-12 at the plate. Laurence had two home runs and one double to go with a pair of singles. His slugging percentage was 1.000, the highest of any outfielder in the tournament. Laurence had four RBIs and scored five runs.
 
Central Oklahoma's season ended just short of the NCAA Tournament. The Bronchos finished 25-21 this season.
