UCO Tops Newman

EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma soccer team picked up a 2-1 win over Newman Saturday in a spring season matchup at Tom Thompson Field.

UCO got second-half goals from Karsen Killion and Kelsie Eason – both assisted by Taryn Kedzior – to get the win. The Bronchos are 4-2-1 in their modified spring season and 1-0 in league play.

Killion scored in the 66th minute, putting home a Kedzior cross with just over 24 minutes to play in the game. After Newman tied the match two minutes later, Eason, again on a cross from Kedzior, slotted home the game-winning goal with just eight minutes left on the clock.

Kaitlyn Asher got the start in goal for the Bronchos and made two saves in the game.

Central Oklahoma continues league play next weekend with a home game against Central Missouri Friday at 7 p.m. before a trip to Joplin, Missouri to take on Missouri Southern Sunday at 1 p.m.
