Bronchos Move Up In Softball Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 28) -- Central Oklahoma moved up three spots in the weekly National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II poll that was released Wednesday morning, coming in at No. 13.

The Bronchos earned 197 points in balloting of 16 head coaches from around the country. The top five all remained the same with No. 1 Augustana -- which owns two close neurtral-site wins over UCO -- staying the unanimous No. 1 pick. Valdost State, North Georgia, UT-Tyler and Indianapolis rounded out the top five.

The Bronchos swept a home doubleheader from Pittsburg State last week in their only action. UCO is 29-9 on the season, continues to lead the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association standings with a 18-4 record and is the only league team in the top-25 poll.

Central ends the regular season this weekend, hosting Nebraska-Kearney Friday and Fort Hays State Saturday.
