No. 4 Central Oklahoma Visits Northeastern State

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The fourth-ranked University of Central Oklahoma tennis program visits Northeastern State Saturday for an MIAA matchup. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
 
Central Oklahoma is 14-1 this season and 6-0 in MIAA play. Northeastern State is 8-6 overall and 4-2 in league play.
 
Central has won 12 consecutive matches dating back to February. The Bronchos have also allowed one single solitary team point in their last eight matches. UCO posted three consecutive shutouts before a 6-1 victory and has posted four consecutive shutouts since then.
 
Adel-Byanu Abidullina is the highest ranked Broncho at No. 7 in the country in the latest ITA Top 50 Singles rankings. The sophomore lefty is 12-1 this season and has won 10 in a row. She is also ranked with teammate Isabella Dunlap the fourth-best doubles team in the country. The duo is 11-2 overall and has won four in a row.
 
Mae Canete is ranked No. 11 in the latest ITA Top 50 Singles rankings. The true freshman is 13-0 this season and hasn't allowed more than four points in a set since February 27. Canete, with teammate Paola Landin, is also nationally ranked in doubles. The duo is ranked 11th nationally and is 9-2 this spring.
 
Dunlap is ranked 37th individually and has a 9-3 record in singles play. Landin is 11-1 this season despite not being ranked.
 
The Bronchos are still strong after its top half of the lineup. Nikki Boyar is 11-2 overall and Blythe Buntrock is 12-0. The two also team up to form the No. 3 doubles team for the Bronchos and the duo has posted a 10-3 record this spring.
 
Central Oklahoma can clinch a share of the MIAA regular season title with a win Saturday. The Bronchos have won more league matchup next weekend, when UCO hosts Missouri Western Saturday afternoon. UCO will also host Tyler Junior College to wrap up the 2021 regular season next Sunday.
 
UCO is hosting the 2021 MIAA Championship at Edmond Center Court April 30-May 2 and the Bronchos are also hosting the 2021 NCAA Division II Regional Championship May 7-9 at Edmond Center Court.
