No. 4 Central Oklahoma Shuts Out OBU

SHAWNEE, Okla. - The fourth-ranked University of Central Oklahoma tennis team rolled to yet another 7-0 victory Tuesday at Oklahoma Baptist.

The Bronchos are now 14-1 on the season and have won 12 consecutive matches. Central has won four in a row by a score of 7-0 and UCO has produced nine shutouts in 14 wins including seven 7-0 victories.

Adel-Byanu Abidullina and Isabella Dunlap won in doubles 6-3 at the top position before Lexi Penn and Lotte Lesscher Y Post won 6-4 at the third position.

Nikki Boyar's 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles gave the Bronchos a 2-0 lead and Blythe Buntrock's 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles made it 3-0.

Dunlap clinched the match for the Bronchos with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles.

Paola Landin also won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2, Penn won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6, and Lesscher Y Post won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5 singles.

Central Oklahoma will return to MIAA play this weekend with a visit to Northeastern State Saturday at 1 p.m.
