Central Oklahoma Visits Oklahoma Baptist

SHAWNEE, Okla. – The University of Central Oklahoma tennis team hits the road Tuesday for a non-conference matchup with Oklahoma Baptist. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
 
Central Oklahoma is 13-1 this season and ranked fourth in the nation in the latest ITA poll. Oklahoma Baptist welcomes the Bronchos to their homecourt with a 2-17 overall record this season.
 
Mae Canete leads Central Oklahoma with a 13-0 record in singles play this season. The freshman from Los Angeles, California is currently ranked 11th in the country. She's posted four wins at the No. 1 spot in the lineup and is 9-0 at the No. 2 spot.
 
Adel-Byanu Abidullina has a 12-1 record in singles play this season. The sophomore from Moscow, Russia is currently ranked seventh nationally. She's 9-1 at the No. 1 spot and has a 3-0 record at the No. 2 position.
 
Blythe Buntrock is third on the team in wins with 11 and has yet to lose a match in singles play. The freshman from Henderson, Nevada is 9-0 at the No. 5 position and picked up two wins this past weekend at the No. 4 spot.
 
Paola Landin and Nikki Boyar both have 10 wins in singles play. Landin is 10-1 and has played 10 of 11 matches at the No. 4 spot, where the junior from Los Cabos, Mexico is 9-1. She is 1-0 at the No. 3 position. Boyar is 10-2 overall, 8-2 at the No. 6 spot, and 2-0 at No. 5 singles.
 
Isabella Dunlap also has an 8-3 record this season. She is ranked 37th in the country.
 
In doubles play, Central is just as dominant. The Bronchos are a combined 30-7 in doubles matches this season and has two teams nationally ranked.
 
Abidullina and Dunlap are ranked fourth in the country in doubles play. The duo has a 10-2 overall record and has played all 12 matches at the No. 1 spot in the lineup.
 
Canete and Landin are ranked 11th in the country and that duo is 9-2 this season. Boyar and Buntrock have a 10-3 record at No. 3 doubles.
 
Central Oklahoma will continue a four-match road trip after its visit to Oklahoma Baptist Tuesday. UCO takes on Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Oklahoma Saturday. The Bronchos return home the following weekend to wrap up the regular season against Missouri Western (April 24) and Tyler Junior College (April 25).
