The new format will include a best-of-three series for the quarterfinals with the top four seeds in the tournament hosting May 7-8. The top four advancing teams will come to Edmond for a double-elimination tournament to decide the league champion at Broncho Softball Stadium May 13-16.
Central Oklahoma has hosted the MIAA Softball Championship since 2016, with the exception of last season's bizarre shutdown of sports in the middle of softball season. Central hosted the event at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City in 2016, 2017, and 2018 before hosting it at UCO in 2019 due to ongoing construction in OKC.
After joining the MIAA in 2012, UCO won league titles in 2013, 2017 and 2019.
