Central Outpaced By Emporia

EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma soccer team lost to Emporia State 4-1 Saturday afternoon in an MIAA spring season matchup at Tom Thompson Field.
 
Central Oklahoma is 2-1 this spring. The Bronchos play again next weekend against Washburn.
 
UCO conceded a goal in the 29th minute but fought to keep the deficit in range throughout the first half. The Bronchos took two shots in the first half but went to the locker room down 1-0.
 
In the second half, Emporia scored again in the 57th minute to make it 2-0.
 
Taryn Kedzior finished a cross from Monika McGee in the 73rd minute to put Central Oklahoma on the scoreboard and bring the score 2-1.
 
Central's chances dwindled soon after that. Emporia scored two minutes later to make it 3-1 and four minutes after that to make it 4-1.
 
Central took six shots in the game and five were on goal. Kaitlyn Asher played all 90 minutes in goal and made five saves.
