Central Oklahoma Visits Fort Hays State

HAYS, Kan. – The University of Central Oklahoma women's basketball team is scheduled to wrap up its brief two-game road trip Saturday at 4 p.m. when the Bronchos take on Fort Hays State.
 
Central Oklahoma is 9-5 this season and looking to bounce back after a loss at Nebraska Kearney Thursday night. UCO has won seven of its last nine games. Fort Hays State is 12-2 overall and has won seven in a row. The Bronchos are also looking to avenge an earlier season loss to Fort Hays. UCO hosted the Tigers in December and were bested that day.
 
Central Oklahoma is averaging 69.7 points per game this season through 14 games this season. The Bronchos post percentages of 42.0 (overall), 31.6 (3-pointers) and 71.2 (free-throws).
 
Avery Allen is up to 6.9 points per game after a 14-point outing Thursday night. She's third on the team in both made 3-pointers and made free-throws. Allen is also averaging 4.0 assists per game – a mark that ranks among the best in the MIAA.
 
Kelsey Johnson's season averages took a hit after a 4-point, 6-rebound game Thursday night but the senior forward still averages a blistering 19.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game through 14 games played. Johnson was plagued by foul trouble Thursday and played a season-low 15 minutes. She's scored in double figures in 13 out of 14 games this season and has scored at least 20 in seven games.
 
Brooke Rayner is averaging 9.6 points per game. The junior guard has a team-high 18 made 3-pointers and also averages 3.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.
 
Jaci Littell is averaging 8.0 points per game. The sophomore guard is looking to snap out of a four-game streak without a made 3-pointer. Littell held the team lead with 16 made 3-pointers two weeks ago but is 0-for her last four games. Littell does have five games this season with multiple threes. She is also averaging 3.7 rebounds per game, 1.8 assists per game, and 1.0 steal per game.
 
Caley Young is averaging 6.9 points per game to go with 4.9 rebounds per game. She is second on the team in boards per game. Kaci Richardson is right behind Young with a 4.3 rebounds per game mark. She also scores 4.1 points per game.
 
Fort Hays State averages 73.6 points per game as a team this season. Jaden Hobbs averages a team-high 16.2 points per game and leads the MIAA with 44 made 3-pointers. Whitney Randall also averages 15.6 points per game to go with 4.9 rebounds per game. Katie Wagner is the team's leading rebounder at 6.9 boards per game.
 
Central Oklahoma is looking to avoid the season sweep against Fort Hays State. The Bronchos are also looking to win their second in a row in Hays, Kan.
