Bronchos To Host Grace Shin Invitational Tourney

It has been two years since the Central Oklahoma women's golf team hosted its own tournament and the Bronchos will be looking for the same results Monday and Tuesday in the Grace Shin Invitational Tournament at the Golf Club of Edmond.

UCO captured the team title and Susana Olivares won the individual crown in the 2019 event. Last year's tournament was cancelled by the COVID-19 pandemic.

First-round play tees off at 8:30 a.m. on both the No. 1 and 10 tees at the 5,813-yard, par-71 Golf Club of Edmond. The 36-hole tournament ends with another 8:30 a.m. start Tuesday.

Central will have two teams in the 19-team field and will be joined by Henderson State, William Jewell, Rogers State, Nebraska-Kearney, Fort Hays State, Southwestern Oklahoma, Missouri Southern, Newman, Central Missouri, Northwest Missouri, Northeastern State, Drury, Oklahoma Baptist, Redlands, Lincoln, Southern Nazarene, Cameron and Missouri Western.

It's the second of four fall tournaments for the Bronchos, who opened with a 16^th-place finish in the power-packed Dallas Baptist Classic two weeks ago.

Making up UCO's first unit will be senior Kinsley Hall, junior Madison O'Dell and sophomores Susana Olivares, Mika Ramos and Emma Shelley. Junior Faith Stewart and sophomores Emily Miller, Taylor Towers and Arin Zachary comprise the second squad.

Olivares led the Bronchos in the opener, finishing 12^th with a 220 total after shooting rounds of 73-72-75.
