A Dozen Track & Field Student-Athletes Earn League Honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced Monday its final academic awards for the spring 2020 semester and 12 University of Central Oklahoma track & field student-athletes were recognized on the league's honor roll.

Student-athletes must have a 3.0 GPA to make the MIAA Honor Roll and a 3.5 GPA and an All-MIAA selection to earn the Scholar Athlete Award. The latter of which was not given out this year due to no All-MIAA selections for spring sports following the cancellation of all sports in March due to the global health crisis. Any student-athlete with a 4.0 GPA also earned the MIAA Academic Excellence Award.

Madelyn Caldwell, Bailey Christiansen, Erin Drewke, Harlie Hanson, Sarah Huhman, Arizona Hummingbird, Luz Lugo-Ponce, Sierra Munoz, Chavon Reece, Kayla South, Skylar Standokes, and Bailee Thomas were all named to the MIAA Honor Roll. Thomas was also awarded MIAA Academic Excellence for carrying a 4.0 grade point average.
