TOURNAMENT RESULTS

AUSTIN, Texas (Feb. 24) – Emma Shelley fired a two-over-par 72 to lead Central Oklahoma on the first day of the St. Edward's Crosswind Gloves Invitational Monday.

The Bronchos are tied for third in the team race after finishing with a 300 total at the 5,810-yard, par-70 Onion Creek North Golf Course. West Texas A&M leads the 16-team field at 290, Arkansas Tech is second at 298 and UCO is tied with Tarleton State.

Final-round play starts at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

No. 22-ranked UCO also got a 74 from Susana Olivares, while Faith Stewart and Madison O'Dell both shot 77 and Kinsley Hall 84. The Bronchos were without senior standout Sydney Roberts, who is out with the flu.

"We played pretty well, but still left some shots out there," said head coach Michael Bond, whose team is playing in its first tournament of the spring season. "It was good for our first round of the spring and hopefully we can play even better tomorrow."

Shelley made three birdies in her round and is tied for fourth in the individual standings, four shots behind leader Ueakarn Songprasert of WT. Olivares had 14 pars on the day in shooting 74 and is tied for 11^th.
