Caldwell Wins Twice In Norman

NORMAN – A pair of wins by Madelyn Caldwell and a distance medley win for the University of Central Oklahoma track & field team led a strong contingent in Norman Saturday at the Bronchos' UCO Alumni Classic.

Caldwell won both the weight throw and the shot put Saturday. She hit 16.96 meters in the weight throw and 13.95 in the shot put. Though neither are season or career marks, the two victories continued what has been a standout season for the senior from Pauls Valley, Okla. Caldwell has finished in the top six in every meet this season in both events.

Central's distance medley team of 1. Bailee Thomas, 2. Bailey Christiansen, 3. Arizona Hummingbird, and 4. Harlie Hanson, completed the event in 12:47.78, nearly one minute ahead of the competition. Rogers State was 46 seconds back in second place.

Sylar Standokes took second place in the 60-meter hurdles. She finished second in the preliminary run with a time of 9.16 seconds, then took second again in the finals with a time of 9.21.
