UCO Remains No. 7 In Regional Poll

INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Central Oklahoma was listed seventh in the NCAA Central Regional rankings announced Wednesday, marking three straight weeks at the same spot for the Bronchos.

Central Oklahoma is 33-16 on the season and gearing up to play in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Postseason Tournament this weekend in Pittsburg, Kan. The Bronchos are the No. 3 seed in the conference tourney and will face sixth-seeded Lindenwood on Thursday at 9 a.m.

Central Oklahoma has made two consecutive Central Regional Tournament appearances and has a 6-4 postseason record in those two postseasons.

The Central Regional Tournament will be played next weekend. The top eight teams in the region will play two sub-regionals with a Super Regional to follow later this month. The MIAA champion, as well as the title winner from the Northern Sun and the Great American Conference earn automatic bids to the eight-team field. Five other at-large bids will also be awarded. Oklahoma Baptist, who is ranked ninth this week, has already clinched the GAC automatic berth.
