Caldwell Closes Track & Field Season At Nationals

KINGSVILLE, Texas – Madelyn Caldwell's 43.19-meter discus throw Friday afternoon at the NCAA Division II National Championships earned herself a 19th-place finish.

Caldwell set a personal record with a throw of 48.69 meters earlier this month at the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Championships to qualify for nationals.

The junior from Pauls Valley, Okla. threw 42.01 meters (137 feet, 10 inches) on her first attempt before hitting 43.19 meters (141 feet, 8 inches) on her second throw. Caldwell fouled and did not score on her final attempt.

Caldwell's finish at nationals concludes the 2019 track & field season.
