Caldwell will compete in the discus at this year's national championships, hosted by Texas A&M Kingsville in Kingsville, Texas. Competition begins Friday, May 17 at 1:30 p.m.

Caldwell, a junior from Pauls Valley, Texas, threw an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 48.69 meters at this year's Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Championship. That mark was at the time the 19th-best mark in the country.

Four of Caldwell's five best career throws have come in her four most recent track & field meets.

Caldwell is aiming to be the second national champion in school history and possibly earn an All-American honor for Broncho Track & Field for the ninth straight season.
