Roberts Opens National Tourney Play

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (May 14) – Central Oklahoma's Sydney Roberts got off to a slow start in the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships Tuesday.

Roberts shot a first-round 81 at the 6,081-yard, par-73 PGA National Champion Course and is tied for 58th in the 95-player field. Second-round play gets underway at 7 a.m. (Oklahoma time) Wednesday before individual play wraps up Thursday.

Roberts opened the day with four straight pars, but then played the next three holes four-over and ended up shooting 40 on the front nine. She was four-over again on the back nine, making six pars to go with two bogeys and a double bogey.
