Heath Earns Academic Honor

EDMOND (May 10) -- Central Oklahoma's JoBi Heath added another honor to her growing list of achievements Thursday and this one came off the field when the senior standout was named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District 7 Softball Team.

Heath has a 3.44 grade point average in nursing and now advances to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, with those honorees announced in June.

District 7 is made up of schools from the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and the Great American Conference.  Twelve players were selected to the All-District 7 team in voting of sports information directors.

Heath has racked up plenty of awards with her stellar play on the field, having been named MIAA Player of the Year and a first-team All-Central Regional selection by both the National Fastpitch Coaches Association and the Conference Commissioner's Assocation.  She's one of the top sluggers in NCAA Division II with 22 doubles, 14 homers and 72 runs batted in to go along with a .407 average.

Heath and the top-ranked Bronchos are hosting the Central Regional I Tournament this weekend.
