UCO Finishes Sixth At SBU Invite

BOLIVAR, Mo. - The University of Central Oklahoma track and field team worked its way to a second-straight sixth-place finish at the Southwest Baptist Invitational Saturday afternoon at Plaster Stadium.

Madelyn Caldwell led the way for the Bronchos. The junior from Pauls Valley, Okla. hit a NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark in the shot put, throwing an even 14 meters. The throw is also a career-high for Caldwell, who finished first at the SBU Invite in the shot put, and also earned a second-place finish in the discus with a 43.67-meter throw.

The Bronchos gathered six total top-five finishes Saturday.

Chavon Reece finished second in the 100, racing to a 12.10-second finish. The Broncho relay team made up of Amber Covin, Kaleigh Dyas, Reece, and Skylar Standokes also finished third in the 4x100 with a time of 49.28.

Central Oklahoma will return to action next weekend. The Bronchos visit Wichita State for the KT Woodman Classic.
