Bronchos Finish Fourth At OU

NORMAN – The University of Central Oklahoma track & field team worked to a fourth-place finish at the John Jacobs Invitational at the University of Oklahoma this weekend.

Central Oklahoma earned eight top-five finishes Saturday, led by a pair of runner-up finishes. Erin Drewke threw her way to second-place in the javelin, hitting 35.70 meters. Arizona Hummingbird also finished second in one of her two events Saturday. The sophomore raced to a second-place finish in the 1500, crossing the finish line in 4:55. She also finished ninth in the 800 in 2:27.

Savannah Reynolds finished fourth in the high jump at 1.49 meters. Skylar Standokes finished fourth in the triple jump at 11.49 meters. And Kayla South added a fourth-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 32.32 meters.

Chavon Reece earned a fifth-place finish in the long jump (5.69m), Bailey Christiansen did the same in the 100 hurdles (15.46 seconds), and again in the 400 hurdles (1:09).

Central Oklahoma is off next weekend before the Bronchos head to the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Championships in Warrensburg, Mo. in two weeks.
