Four Bronchos Earn National Rank

TEMPE, Ariz. – The University of Central Oklahoma tennis team inched up one spot in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association national rankings, coming in Wednesday at No. 8 in the country.

Central Oklahoma is led by a quartet of nationally ranked players. The Bronchos are just one of two schools in the country to have four players ranked.

Isabella Dunlap remained No. 6 in the national singles rankings. Adel-Byanu Abidullina is now up to No. 8, Paola Landin moved up to No. 66, and Nikki Boyar returned to the national rankings at No. 70.

Dunlap and Landin are also ranked 16th in the country as a doubles team.

Dunlap is 9-6 this season in singles matches and went 6-3 in the MIAA in this her freshman season. She also has a 10-5 doubles record and went 4-3 in league matches.

Abidullina, a freshman, is 12-3 in singles matches and 15-2 in doubles play. She went 7-0 in singles matches within the MIAA and 9-0 in MIAA doubles matches.

Landin has a team-high 17 wins this spring. The sophomore is 17-1 overall. She is also 10-5 in doubles matches with Dunlap.

Boyar, also a freshman, is 11-5 this season in singles competition. She has a 12-3 doubles record as well.

Central Oklahoma is 14-3 this season. The Bronchos played at Cameron Wednesday and will face off with Midwestern State on Thursday to wrap up the 2019 regular season.
