Bronchos Take On ESU Relays

EMPORIA, Kan. – The University of Central Oklahoma track & field team is set to compete in the ESU Relays at Emporia State Saturday. Field events begin at 10 a.m. and track events will begin at noon.

Central Oklahoma will send a 16-person contingent to Emporia looking to score big in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association heavy event. This is Central's second outdoor meet of the young 2019 season.

Chavon Reece leads the Bronchos into Saturday's meet, having a pair of first-place finishes under her belt already.

Reece, a freshman, raced to a top finish in the 100 meters at Oklahoma Baptist earlier this month. She also finished first in the long jump in Shawnee, Okla.

The Bronchos also got second-place finishes from Skylar Standokes and Erin Drewke at OBU. Those two will both compete Saturday trying to better their marks this season.

Central Oklahoma will be back in action next weekend, visiting San Angelo, Texas for the David Noble Relays.
