Bronchos Move Up To No. 2

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 20) -- Streaking Central Oklahoma moved up two spots in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II rankings, coming in at No. 2 in this week's poll.

The Bronchos, 24-1 and winner of 20 straight games, received five first-place votes and finished with 379 points in balloting of 16 head coaches from around the country -- two from each of the eight regions. North Georgia took over the No. 1 spot with the other 11 first-place votes and 393 points. West Florida is third, with Chico State and Southern Arkansas rounding out the top five.

It's UCO's highest ranking since the Bronchos opened the 2014 season at No. 1 after winning the national championship the season before.

Central returns to action this weekend with four games at Hy-Vee Classic in St. Joseph, Mo., starting with a Friday morning showdown against No. 17 Augustana. The Bronchos will also play No. 22 Winona State along with Northern State and Minot State in the three-day event.
