Bronchos Finish Fourth

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

PALM DESERT, Calif. (March 15) -- Faith Stewart fired a final-round 77 to lead Central Oklahoma to a fourth-place finish in the Augustana Spring Fling Friday.

The Bronchos knocked 13 shots off their first-round score, closing with a 317 to finish two trips around the 5,901-yard, par-72 Classic Club at Desert Willow Golf Resort with a 647 total. Point Loma won the 10-team tourney with a 627, followed by Northeastern State (635), Dixie State (636) and UCO.

Central had three players break 80, with Madison O'Deal and Yuna Sato both shooting 79 to back up Stewart's 77. Sydney Roberts added an 82 and Makena Mucciaccio shot 84.

Stewart tied for fifth in the individual standings with a 157 total, while O'Dell tied for 13th at 161.

"We played a little better today, but we still had too many big scores," said head coach Michael Bond, whose team carded eight double bogeys or worse on the day. "We need to get in a couple of good days of practice before this next tournament and see what kind of improvement we can make."

Central moves on to Monteray, Calif. Monday and Tuesday for the Otter Invitational.
