UCO Fifth In California

PALM DESERT, Calif. (March 14) -- Central Oklahoma is tied for fifth place after first-day in the Augustana Spring Fling.

The Bronchos shot a 330 in windy conditions at the 5,901-yard, par-72 Classic Club at the Desert Willow Golf Resort. Point Loma leads the 10-team tourney at 314, followed by Dixie State (316), Northeastern State (324) and Bida (328).

Final-round play begins at 10 a.m. (Oklahoma time) Tuesday).

Only 10 players in the 56-player field broke 80, with Faith Stewart leading UCO with an 880 that has her tied for 11th in the individual standings. Madison O'Dell and Sydney Roberts both added 82s, while Yuna Sato shot 86 and Makena Mucciaccio a 91.
