Bronchos Host UCO Alumni Classic Saturday

NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Central Oklahoma track & field team is hosting the UCO Alumni Classic Saturday at the Mosier Indoor Facility at the University of Oklahoma.

The pentathlon is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. with field events starting at 11 a.m. and track events set to go off at 11:30 a.m.

The Bronchos are hosting for the second time in three weeks, and UCO is looking to continue a recent trend of top performances.

Maddie Brown has run, in three races this season, a steady time in the 3,000 meters. A school-record 10:18 mark in December, a 10:24 first-place finish in Norman two weeks ago, and another 10:24 at the DI-heavy Texas Tech Open last week, have Brown primed for another big race Saturday.

Brown will also race in the 1-mile run, where she has seen similar success in this her senior season.

Madelyn Caldwell, a junior thrower for the Bronchos, is aiming to continue a recent successful trend as well. Caldwell has an NCAA Indoor provisional qualifying mark of 17 meters in the weight throw. She's done the same in the shot put and is working to up those marks Saturday.

Central Oklahoma will have a dozen Bronchos competing Saturday. Here is a breakdown of the UCO contingent.
