Bronchos Set For MIAA Championships

MARYVILLE, Mo. – The University of Central Oklahoma track & field team is set to compete in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Indoor Championships at Northwest Missouri's Hughes Fieldhouse this weekend.

Action gets underway Friday with the combined events. Savannah Reynolds and Aysia Williams will both compete in the women's pentathlon (60-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump, and 800-meter run) for the Bronchos.

Saturday's action begins with the field events at 1:30 p.m. with track's preliminary events starting at 2 p.m. and running through the evening.

Field events wrap up Sunday morning while track's finals will take place Sunday afternoon.

Madelyn Caldwell will compete in both the shot put and the weight throw as she continues to try and improve on her NCAA provisional marks already hit this season. Caldwell has thrown 13.66 meters in the shot put and 17 meters in the weight throw. The shot-put mark is a UCO school record.

Maddie Brown, whose name is also in the UCO record book, is set to compete in the 1-mile run, the 3,000-meter race, and will assist in the 4x400. Brown's five-minute mile two weeks ago at the UCO Alumni Classic is a school record, as is her 10:17 mark in the 3,000 meters at the Texas Tech Open earlier this month.
