Bronchos Finish Fifth In St. Edward's Tourney

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

AUSTIN, Texas (Feb. 19) – Madison O'Dell fired a three-over-par 75 in rainy, cold conditions to pace Central Oklahoma to a fifth-place finish in the St. Edward's Invitational Monday.

The Bronchos closed with a 316 to finish two trips around the par-72 Onion Creek Country Club with a 627 total. Arkansas Tech won the 15-team tournament at 603, followed by Southwestern Oklahoma (620), Rogers State (620), St. Mary's (623) and UCO.

"It was really tough out there today, but I was proud of the way we battled," said head coach Michael Bond, whose team was playing in its first tournament of the spring season. "It was good to get the season started and this is definitely something we can build on."

O'Dell's 75 was the third-lowest score of the day as the freshman knocked an impressive 13 shots off her opening-round score. The Bronchos also got 78s from Makena Mucciaccio and Faith Stewart, while Sydney Roberts shot 85 and Yuna Sato 87.

Both Mucciaccio and Stewart finished in the top 10 individually, with Mucciaccio tying for seventh with a 153 total while Stewart tied for ninth at 154.

The Bronchos don't play again until March 4-5 at the SNU Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational at KickingBird.
